In the book of Proverbs Solomon told his son, “Strive not with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm. Envy you not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways”, and in chapter three and verse thirty-two of Proverbs Solomon said, “the froward is abomination to the LORD” where we read,
For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous.
The verse begins, “For the froward is abomination to the LORD:”. Solomon began with the words, “for the froward” or “because, since and on account that the person who is crooked, devious, perverse and lost” “is an abomination” which means “exists as a disgusting, unclean, wicked and morally repugnant” “to the LORD” or “toward Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name of the One True God”. Solomon shared how the person who is crooked and perverse exists as repugnant and disgusting to Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “but his secret is with the righteous.” Solomon added the words, “but his secret” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover his, Jehovah God's, counsel and intimate consultation” “is with the righteous” which means “exists alongside people who are just, right, straight, upright, fitting, proper and correct”. Solomon said Jehovah God accompanies people who are just, right and correct His intimate consultation.
When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon warned his son against people who are repugnant to Jehovah God. These people are crooked, devious and perverse, and God withholds His intimate consultation from them. God wants us to be right and correct, and when we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and provide us with His Almighty advice and keep us from fraudulent and crooked people.
Next time Solomon says, “the curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
