All Things Made New Revelation 21:5

After all the events of the tribulation period, the millennial reign of Jesus and the “Great White Throne” judgment, John the apostle wrote, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” John added, “and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”, and in Revelation chapter twenty-one and verse five John shares how God says, “Behold, I make all things new” where we read:

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
The verse reads, And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. John began with the words, “and he that sat” which means “and the certain One (God) who was seated, fixed and occupied” “upon the throne” or “on the chair of state having a footstool and assigned to kingly power or royalty” “said” which means “uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “behold” or “lo and see” “I make” or “God produces, prepares and forms” “all things” which refers to “each, every, the whole and everyone of the types” “new” or “recently made, fresh, unused and unworn”. John shared how God sitting upon His throne “declared” how He was to “make” everything that exists into a “new” form.

The verse goes on to say, “And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.” John continued with the words, “and he said” which means “and the certain One upon the throne (God) uttered, declared and proclaimed” “unto me” which means “toward John”, “Write” or “delineate or form in letters upon a tablet, parchment, paper or other material”: “for these words” which refers to “because, since and on account of the speech, decrees, mandates and moral precepts” “are true” or “exist as valid, sincere, veracious, authentic and opposite to what is imperfect, defective, frail and uncertain” “and faithful” which means “that in which a person may rely upon, have confidence in and trust in”. God told John to “write” “the words” he was given, and as though they needed it, God validated those “words” as “authentic” and “worthy of trust”.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we attempt to imagine God sitting upon His “throne” as He declared the remaking of everything and instructing John the apostle to “write” the “words” he heard because they are “valid” and “real”. God knows these things may be a little difficult for some people to believe as they are far beyond the human mind to comprehend, and yet, they are “valid” and they are worthy of “trust”. God desires to have an intimate relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and all the things He makes anew shall be enjoyed by those who put their “faith and trust” in Him for indeed, “These words are faithful and true”.

Next time John shares how the one who “sat on the throne said”, “It is done, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
