Seal Not the Sayings of This Prophecy Revelation 22:10

After sharing much of the beauty of the heavenly city and looking upon the wonders that shall be there, Jesus declared to John the apostle, “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” John continued,And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things. Then said he unto me, See you do it not: for I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. In Revelation chapter twenty-two and verse ten John shares how the angel told him, “seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book” where we read:

And he said unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.
The verse reads, And he said unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: John began with the words, “and he said” which means “and the angel uttered, declared and proclaimed” “unto me” or “toward John”, “seal not” which means “do not mark, impress or stamp to conceal” “the sayings” which means “the words, decrees, mandates or moral precepts” “of the prophecy” or “belonging to the discourse emanating from divine inspiration and declaring the purposes of God whether by reproving and admonishing the wicked or comforting the afflicted or revealing things hidden especially by foretelling future events” “of this book” which means “belonging to the scroll, sheet or written document John has been writing”. John was instructed not to “conceal” the “writings” within the book of Revelation.

The verse continues, “for the time is at hand. John added the word, “for” which means “because, since and on account that” “the time” which refers to “the due measure and right and opportune season” “is at hand” which means “exists in place, imminently, near and soon to come to pass”. John shared. The “angel” told John the “due measure and opportune” time for these things to come to pass was soon.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we discover that God wants people to know the things which are written within the book of Revelation. John was instruct not to “conceal” them because time was “short”, and people needed to know these things will shortly come to pass. God wants every person to be in a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus, and much of this book and the judgments within it, that are certain to come, may be avoided. Let all who read these words receive God's offer of “salvation” through His Son before all the events within this book appear.

Next time the angel tells John, “he that is unjust, let him be unjust still, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
