After
all the events of the tribulation period, the millennial reign of
Jesus and the “Great
White Throne”
judgment, John the apostle wrote, “And
I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the
first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John
saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” John
described the heavenly city as he wrote, “And
the building of the wall of it was of
jasper: and the city was
pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of
the city were
garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation
was
jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an
emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh,
chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a
chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And
the twelve gates were
twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of
the city was
pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein:
for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the
city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for
the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is
the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk
in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory
and honor into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by
day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the
glory and honor of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise
enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works
abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's
book of life. And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear
as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In
the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was
there
the tree of life, which bare twelve manner
of
fruits, and
yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were
for the healing of the nations.”
In Revelation chapter twenty-two and verse three John shares how,
“there
shall be no more curse”
where
we read:
And
there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb
shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:
The
verse reads, “And
there shall be no more curse:”
John began with the words,“and
there shall be”
or “and there will exist and come to pass” “no
more curse”
which means “no longer or any imprecation at all”. John shared
how the “imprecation” against mankind would exist no longer.
The
verse continues, “but
the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants
shall serve him:”
John continued with the word, “but”
which means “even as, also and indeed” “the
throne”
which refers to “the chair of state having a footstool which is
assigned to kingly power or royalty” “of
God”
which means “belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is
comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”
“and
of the Lamb”
or “pertaining to the little lamb which represents Jesus” “shall
be in it”
or “will exist and occur within the heavenly city”; “and
his servants” which
refers to “and God's bondmen and attendants” “shall
serve”
or “will minister, perform sacred services, offer gifts and
worship” “him”
which refers to “God”. John shared how God's “throne”
will be in the heavenly city where His “attendants” will worship
and minister unto Him.
When
we consider John's words in this verse, we see how the “curse”
upon man will be removed and God shall rule and reign over His
“worshipers and ministers”. God desires for every person to be
removed from the “curse” brought upon man and to enjoy
“worshiping and ministering” to Him within the heavenly city.
This comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ His Son, and when
a person yields their life to Him, they shall enjoy the removal of
the “curse” and the worship before His throne.
Next
time
we see John shares how “they
shall see his face”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

tomorrow…there is more…
