The Glory and Honor of the Nations Revelation 21:26

After all the events of the tribulation period, the millennial reign of Jesus and the “Great White Throne” judgment, John the apostle wrote, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” John described the heavenly city as he wrote, “And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.” In Revelation chapter twenty-six John shares how, “” where we read:

And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
The verse reads, “And they shall bring the glory and honor ... John began with the words, “and they shall bring” which means “and the kings of the earth shall carry, bear and move in” “the glory” or “the splendor, brightness, preeminence, dignity, grace and magnificence” “and honor” which means “and value, deference and reverence”. John repeated how the kings of the earth will carry “splendor and deference into the heavenly city.

The verse goes on to say, “... of the nations into it.” John continued with the words, “of the nations” which means “belonging to the companies, troops and multitudes of individuals of the same nature or genus” “into it” which refers to “into the heavenly city”. The “multitudes” of the world shall be represented within the heavenly city.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see how all the world shall be subject to God and His Son Jesus within this heavenly city. All around the world the leaders will reverence and give their honor to God within this city. This is God's desire today. Everyone in the world is invited to have a relationship with God through His Son Jesus, and Jesus paid the price for their sins so they might be included in this multitude. May all who read these words bring their “glory and honor” to Jesus Christ by submitting their lives to Him as “King of Kings” and “Lord of Lords”.

Next time John shares how “there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
