In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just”, and in chapter thirteen and verse twenty-two of Proverbs Solomon said, “much food is in the tillage of the poor” where we read,
Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.
The verse begins, “Much food is in the tillage of the poor:” Solomon began with the words, “much food” or “a multitude, abundance and numerous amount of prey, victuals and dinner” “is in the tillage” which means “exists within the freshly plowed land” “of the poor” or “belonging to people who are impoverished, lacking, wanting and in hunger”. Solomon shared how there exists an abundance of victuals within the freshly plowed land of people who are impoverished.
The verse goes on to say, “but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.” Solomon continued with the words, “but there is that is destroyed” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover there exists a substance and being which is consumed, snatched away and captured” “for want of judgment” or “ because of a lack of ordinance, process, procedure and litigation”. Solomon said there exists a substance and gain that is consumed and snatched away because of a lack of process and procedure.
When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we discover that a good harvest of “food” comes to people who plow their land, however, what little a person has may be snatched away if they do not have any process or procedure within their lives. God gives us direction, and His desire is to have a personal relationship with every person through His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind. When we put our faith and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and teach us to work and plow in our fields so we will reap an abundant harvest according to His perfect measure and will.
Next time Solomon says, “he that spares his rod hates his son”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
