All that were Diseased Brought to Jesus - Matthew 14:35

Matthew the apostle wrote how Jesus and His disciples, “came into the land of Gennesaret”, and in chapter fourteen and verse thirty-five of his book, Matthew shares how “the men of that place … brought unto him all that were diseased” Jesus where we read:

And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;

The verse reads, And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, ...”. Matthew began with the words, “and when the men” which means “and at the time and moment the men” “of that place” or “belonging to the land of Gennesaret” “had knowledge of him” which means “became acquainted with, recognized and perceived who Jesus was”, “they sent out” or “the men of the land of Gennesaret ordered, drove and departed” “into all that country round about” which refers to “in each, every and the whole of region round about Jordan”. Matthew shared how the “men of the land of Gennesaret” learned who Jesus was and spread word about Him to their entire region and countryside.

The verse goes on to say, ... and brought unto him all that were diseased; Matthew continued with the word, “and brought unto him” which means “and lead, tendered and bore toward Jesus” “all” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone” “that were diseased” or “who was miserable, ill, wronged, sick and reviled grievously”. Matthew shared how the men of Gennesaret “brought” all the people in the land who were afflicted with “illnesses, troubles, miseries and sicknesses”.

When we consider Matthew's words in this verse, we see how the news concerning Jesus spread rapidly. When people discover Jesus is the solution to their difficulties and problems, they naturally go to Him. God desires for people to come to Him with their troubles, and whether they are physical, emotional or spiritual, Jesus is the answer. Let all who read these words be inspired to go to Jesus with whatever problems they have in their lives.

Next time we see Matthew shares how the people, “that they might only touch the hem of his garment”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
