Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth, “every
man in his own order: Christ the first-fruits; afterward they that
are Christ's at his coming”,
and in
chapter fifteen and verse twenty-four of First Corinthians, Paul told
the church members in Corinth how if Jesus was not “raised”,
then “your faith is vain”,
where we read:
Then
comes
the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the
Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and
power.
The
verse begins, “Then
comes
the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the
Father;” Paul
began with the words, “then comes”
or
“afterwards and thereafter arrives” “the
end” which
means “the termination, ceasing, close and finish”, “when
he” or
“at such time ” “shall have delivered up” or “given over
and committed” “the kingdom”
which refers to “the royal power, dominion and rule” “of
God” or
“the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the
Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”, “even
the Father”
which means “also and indeed the generator, originator and
transmitter who is the Father of Jesus Christ.” After Jesus
“comes”, the “finish” will come as well, and God's kingdom
shall be delivered to the Heavenly Father.
The
verse continues, “when
he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.”
Paul added
the words, “when” which
means “at such time, as long as and as soon as” “he
shall have put down”
which means “Jesus will have rendered idle, unemployed, inactive
and inoperative” “all rule”
which means “each, every, the whole origins, that which begins to
be, the extremity of a thing, principality and majesty” “and
all authority”
or “and each, every, the whole and every power of choice, liberty
of doing as one pleases and rule of government” “and
power”
which refers to “strength, ability, moral power and excellence of
soul”. When Jesus comes, all other “rule,
authority and power”
shall be done away.
When
we meditate upon these words from Paul, we see how Jesus' power over
“death” and “coming again” shall set a new rule of “order,
law and authority”. All the others shall be “put down”,
and Jesus Christ shall reign. The “end” shall have come, He will
turn the kingdom back to his Father in Heaven, and those who believe
and trust in him shall inherit the “kingdom of the Father” as
their eternal home.
Next
time Paul shares with
the church members,
“for he must reign, till he
has put all enemies under his feet”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
