Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth, “since
by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead”,
and in
chapter fifteen and verse twenty-two of First Corinthians, Paul told
the church members in Corinth, “in Adam all
die”, but “in
Christ shall all be made alive”,
where we read:
For
as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The
verse begins, “For
as in Adam all die, ...” Paul
began with the word, “for” or
“even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore”
“as in”
which means “just as and in the same way” “Adam”
whose name means “the red earth” and was “the first man who was
the parent of the whole human family” “all”
or “each, every, the whole and everyone” “die”
or “are slain, experience death either violently or naturally”.
Although “Adam”
was the first person who was alive, his “sin”
led to the death of every person afterwards.
The
verse continues, “ … even
so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
Paul added
the words, “even so” which
means “also and indeed” “in
Christ”
which means “the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God”
“shall all”
which means “will each, every, the whole and everyone” “be
made alive”
or “will quicken and be restored to life”. Jesus Christ made it
possible for “everyone” to be “restored to life” after their
death.
When
we meditate upon these words from Paul, we understand how “death”
came into the world, through Adam, and we realize how “resurrection”
came by Jesus Christ. God intended for us to live forever, and
because of sin, people die. God was not satisfied with this, so He
sent His Son Jesus to save people from sin and death and offer them
eternal life. Let all who read these words rejoice that Jesus Christ
provided a way to be eternally alive with Him.
Next
time Paul shares with
the church members about,
“every man in his own
order”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
