Paul
the apostle told the church members in Corinth how Jesus, “was
buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the
scriptures:”,
and he was “seen of Cephas, the
twelve, above five hundred brethren and James”. In
chapter fifteen and verse eight of First Corinthians, Paul shared how
Jesus was, “seen of me also”,
where we read:
And
last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
The
verse begins, “And
last of all he was seen of me also, ...”
Paul began
with the words, “and last” or
“in the extreme uttermost and lowest rank” “of
all” which
means “of each, every, the whole and everyone” “was
seen” or
“appeared to, looked at and beheld” “of
me also”
which refers to “Paul as well”. Paul also saw Jesus after His
resurrection.
The verse goes on to
say, “...as
of one born out of due time.” Paul
added the words, “as of one born of
due time”
which is all one Greek word “ektrōma”
and
means
“as an untimely birth”. Paul considered his exposure to Jesus
like an unexpected or premature birth.
When
we consider these words from Paul, we see him as a witness who could
testify to the resurrected Christ. Jesus Christ did what no one else
has done under their own power – He rose from the grave, and those
who put their faith and trust in Him shall not only know Him, but
also shall receive “eternal life”. One day, those who trust in
Jesus, will see Him face to face, and since this is true, may all who
read these words declare, “He is Risen. He is Risen indeed. He is
Risen. He is Risen for me.”
Next
time Paul calls
himself,
“the least of the apostles”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
