Paul
the apostle wrote to the church members in Corinth about, “Being
enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causes through us
thanksgiving to God.”,
and
in
chapter nine and verse twelve of Second
Corinthians, Paul
shared about “the administration of
this service”
where we read:
For the
administration of this service not only supplies the want of the
saints,
but is
abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
The verse begins, “For
the administration of this service not only supplies the want of the
saints, ...”
Paul began with the word, “for”
which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and
therefore” “the administration”
or “the
servicing or ministering” “of this
service”
which means “”gift or benefaction of the relief of the needy”
“not only”
or “not merely or alone” “supplies”
which means “fills up by adding to” “the
want” or
“the deficiency, that which is lacking, destitution and poverty”
“of the saints” which
refers to “the pure, morally blameless and religiously and
ceremonially consecrated”. Paul was
grateful to God for providing the needs of His “saints”.
The verse continues, “...
but is abundant also by many thanksgivings
unto God;” Paul added the words, “but”
which is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be
written takes precedence over what was just stated “is
abundant”
or “exceeds a fixed number of measure, left over and above a
certain number or measure” “also”
which means “even and indeed” “by
many” or
“through much” “thanksgivings”
which means “gratitude and givings of thanks” “unto
God” or
“toward the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God
the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul not only
shared how God provided for the needs of “the
saints”,
but also was “grateful” for more “givings” from Him.
When we think through
these words of Paul, we see how he
was “grateful” to God for supplying he, his companions and the
church members' needs. This is God's design through Jesus Christ and
is available to everyone. God provides services to people even when
they do not know Him as “Savior and Lord”, and when they receive
His Son Jesus, “many” more “thanksgivings” are “administered”
and given through Him.
Next
time Paul tells the church members about the,
“the experiment of this ministration”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
Until
tomorrow…there is more…
