The LORD Shall Increase You - Psalms 115:14

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “The LORD has been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse fourteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “the LORD shall increase you more and more” where we read,

The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

The verse begins with the words, “The LORD shall increase you more and more, ...”. The Psalmist began, “the LORD” or “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “shall increase you” which means “will add and do more to you, people reading and listening to the Psalmist's words” “more and more” or “to a greater and greater degree”. The Psalmist said Jehovah God would add greater and greater value to the people who reverence and are in awe of Him.

The verse goes on to say, “you and your children.”. The Psalmist continued with the word, “you” or “you, people who fear Jehovah God” “and your children” which means “and the offspring, descendants and progeny of the people who fear Jehovah God”. The Psalmist said the people who are in awe of Jehovah God and their offspring and descendants will be “increased more and more”.

When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist declared the people to be so blessed by Jehovah God that they would “increase” to a greater and greater degree. God wants to “bless” all people, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for the sins of everyone. When we yield our lives to Him as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and make our value and status greater and greater in this world and for all eternity.

Next time the Psalmist says, “you are blessed of the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
