We Will Bless the LORD - Psalms 115:18

In Psalms one hundred fifteen the Psalmist said, “The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence”, and in chapter one hundred fifteen and verse eighteen of Psalms the Psalmist said, “we will bless the LORD from this time forth” where we read,

But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.

The verse begins with the words, But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore.. The Psalmist began, “but we will bless or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover we, the Psalmist and his people, shall praise, adore, salute and celebrate” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God” “from this time forth” or “from now and straightway” “and for evermore” which means “and even until, as far as and unto long duration, futurity, everlasting, perpetually and unto perpetuity”. The Psalmist said he and his people would adore and celebrate Jehovah God from now unto perpetuity.

The verse goes on to say, “Praise the LORD.”. The Psalmist continued with the word, “praise” or “shine forth, make a boast, commend and celebrate” “the LORD” which means “Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”. The Psalmist instructed his readers and listeners to adore and celebrate Jehovah God.

When we consider the words in this verse, we see how the Psalmist ended this psalm by declaring that he and his people would praise and celebrate Jehovah God, and then he exhorted everyone who is reading and listening to his words to adore and celebrate God as well. God is worthy of our “praise” and deserving of our “praise”, and when we determine to believe and trust in His Son Jesus as our personal “Lord and Savior”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and allow us to join the Psalmist and his people in giving honor, praise and glory to Him for all eternity.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see the Psalmist say, “I love the LORD”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
