Paul
the apostle parenthetically told the church members in Rome, “when
the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things
contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto
themselves”,
and he added, “which
show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience
also bearing witness, and their
thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) In
chapter two and verse sixteen of Romans, Paul referred to “the
day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ”
where we read:
In
the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ
according to my gospel.
The
verse begins, “In
the day when God shall judge the secrets of men ...”
Paul began with the words, “in
the day”
which means “in the time regarded as the time for abstaining from
indulgence, vice, crime, because acts of the sort are perpetrated at
night and in darkness” “when
God” which
means “whenever the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised
of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “shall
judge”
or “will separate, put asunder, select, choose and pronounce
judgment upon” “the
secrets”
which means “the hidden, concealed, private things which are
covered in darkness” “of
men” which
refers to “of human beings whether male or female”. Paul referred
to the “time” when God will “pronounce judgment” upon the
“hidden, private and concealed” things of people.
The
verse continues, “...
by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.” Paul
added the words, “by
Jesus” which
means “through Jehovah is Salvation” who is “the Son of God,
the Savior of mankind and God incarnate” “Christ”
or
“the anointed One, the Messiah and the Son of God” “according
to”
which means “down from, through out, toward and along” “my
gospel” which means “Paul's good news”. “Jesus
Christ”
shall be the standard by which the “hidden things of man” shall
be “judged”.
When
we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how nothing shall be
“unrevealed” to God, and He will “judge” all aspects
of a person's life. Both the “seen” and the “unseen” failures
to keep God's “law” will be “separated and put asunder”.
Jesus Christ knows all these things and continues to be willing to
“save” people from their sins. This is God's “good news”, and
by this “gospel” Paul demonstrated Jesus' willingness to
bring “salvation” to everyone. May all who read these words
consider the awesome love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and
when they understand how He shall “judge” them one day,
let it be known they have believed and trusted in Him as their
personal “Savior and Lord”.
Next
time Paul shares about people who are,
“called
a Jew, and rest in the law”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until
tomorrow…there is more…
