Caught Up into Paradise 2 Corinthians 12:4

As Paul the apostle told the church members concerning his “visions and revelations” he shared how he, “knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knows;)”, and in chapter twelve and verse four of Second Corinthians, Paul shared how he, “he was caught up into paradise” where we read:

How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words,
which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

The verse begins, “How that he was caught up into paradise, ...” Paul began with the word, “how that” which means “because and since” “he was caught up” or “the man was seized, carried off by force and snatched out or away” “into paradise” which means “to the upper regions of the heavens”. In Paul's vision he was “snatched away to the upper regions of the heavens”.

The verse goes on to say, “and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”. Paul began with the words, “and heard” which means “was able to hear, comprehend and understand” “unspeakable” or “unsaid, unspoken and inexpressible” “words” which means “sounds and discourses produced by the voice and having definite meaning”, “which it is not lawful” which means “that it is not right” “for a man” or “for a person whether male or female” “to utter” which means “speak, articulate, or disclose one's mind and thoughts”. When Paul was “caught up” to the “upper regions of the heavens”, he heard “inexpressible” “sounds and discourses” that were so great, it would not be “right” to “articulate” them.

When we consider these words of Paul, we are in the middle of his “vision and revelation” of heaven. Paul was given the ability to “hear” “words”, “sounds and discourses” that were so wonderful it would not be “right” to attempt to “speak” them. This is how glorious “heaven” or the “spiritual residence of God the Father and Jesus His Son” is. God desires to share this beautiful place and these beautiful “discourses” with everyone who will receive His Son Jesus Christ as “Savior and Lord”, and may all who read these words be inspired by Paul's “vision” and desire to hear what He heard in heaven some day.

Next time Paul tells the church members, “Of such an one will I glory ...but in my infirmitiesand more, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
