Paul
the apostle told the church members in Rome about people who did not
“glorify” or “thank” God, “changed the
truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more
than the Creator, who is blessed for ever”
He added, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile
affections:
for
even their women did change the natural use into that which is
against nature”, and
in chapter one and verse
twenty-seven of Romans Paul told with the church members how people,
“likewise also the men...burned in their lust one toward
another” where we read:
And
likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned
in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error
which was meet.:
The
verse begins, “And likewise also the men, leaving the
natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another;”
Paul began with the words, “and likewise”
or “equally and in the same way” “also the men”
which refers to “even so the male human beings”, “leaving”
which means “departing and
going away from” “the natural use” which
means “the inborn and governed by the instincts of nature” “of
the woman” or “of the female
human being”, “burned”
which means “were kindled and set on fire” “in their
lust” or “in their longing,
craving and eager appetite” “one toward another”
which means “to and towards each other”. Paul shared how the
“males” who “changed the truth of God into a lie”
“passionately desired” other “males” after “departing from”
the “inborn” way of women.
The
verse goes on to say, “men with men working that which is
unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error
which was meet.:” Paul
continued with the words, “men” which
means “male human beings” “with men” or
“along and together with male human beings” “working”
which means “performing, accomplishing and achieving” “that
which is unseemly” or
“shameful, indecent and naked”, “and receiving”
which means “ recovering or
taking back and aside,” “in themselves”
or “within these who do such practices” “that
recompense” which means “the
reward given in compensation and requital” “of their
error” or “the wandering,
straying about and wrong modes of acting relative to morals or
religion of these” “which was meet” which
means “that is necessary, right and proper”. Paul shared how the
“men” who “changed
the truth of God into a lie” performed “shameful and indecent”
acts with one another and received a “reward” for their “straying
about and wrong moral acting”.
When
we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how “males” also
turned from the “natural” way of the “woman” to
commit “lustful physical acts” with one another. Paul called this
“unseemly” behavior which is “shameful and indecent”,
and those who have rejected God's truth are inclined not only to
“lust” after these things, but also to “commit” immoral
“acts” with one another. Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind from
sinful ways, and those who commit these acts are not exempt from His
loving offer of “salvation”. Those who reject God's offer of
Jesus also reject His ways, and lest there be any who read these
words who do not understand how much God loves them, let it be known,
Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost”.
Next
time Paul
tells the church members, “the
did not like to retain God in their knowledge”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
Until
tomorrow…there is more…
