God's Unspeakable Gift 2 Corinthians 9:15

Paul the apostle told the church members in Corinth, by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ” and he commended them for their “liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;” and he added, “by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you”. In chapter nine and verse fifteen of Second Corinthians, Paul thanks “God for his unspeakable gift” where we read:

Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

The verse begins, “Thanks be unto God ... Paul began with the word, “thanks” which means “grace, joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness and favor” “be unto God” or “toward the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul expressed “thanks” toward “God” for that which he is going to reveal.

The verse continues, “... for his unspeakable gift” Paul added the word, “for” or “on behalf and sake of” “his unspeakable” which means “God's indescribable and not expounded in full” “gift” or “gratuity or gratis”. Paul was “grateful” for God's “gift” that was “indescribable and well beyond description”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we note his “gratitude” to God for His “gift” to men. No one else can offer such a “gift” as God did when He gave His “only begotten Son”, and now all who believe and trust in Him shall inherit “everlasting life”. (See John 3:16) This “gift” is worthy of “thanks”, and those who are wise will not only receive it, but offer “gratitude” to God for His “indescribable gift”.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see , so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
