Their Prayer for You 2 Corinthians 9:14

Paul the apostle told the church members in Corinth, by the experiment of this ministration they glorify God for your professed subjection unto the gospel of Christ” and he commended them for their “liberal distribution unto them, and unto all men;” and he added, “by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you”. In chapter nine and verse fourteen of Second Corinthians, Paul thanks “by their prayer for you where we read:

And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.

The verse begins, And by their prayer for you, ... Paul began with the word, “and by their prayer” which means “through the other Christians' indigence, want, privation, penury, seeking, asking and entreaty to God” “for you” or “on behalf and for the sake of the church members in Corinth”. Paul included the “prayers” of the other Christians for the church members in Corinth.

The verse continues, “... which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you.” Paul added the words, “which long after” or “desire and pursue with love toward” “you” which means “the church members” “for the exceeding grace” or “on behalf of the surpassing, transcending, exceeding and excelling joy, pleasure, delight, sweetness, charm, loveliness, goodwill, loving-kindness and unmerited favor” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “in you” or “within the church members”. Paul was “grateful” for God's “gift” that was “indescribable and well beyond description”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how he recognized the “prayers” for the church members in Corinth's, and those “prayers” were concerning “God's abundant” “unmerited favor” toward them. This should be our “prayer” for other believers in Jesus Christ as well. God's “grace” abounds, and when we “long after” others to be blessed with it, we have aligned ourselves with the true sense of “praying” according to the will of God.

Next time we begin a new chapter and see , so read ahead, and we shall join together then,
