Hebrews, Israelites and the Seed of Abraham 2 Corinthians 11:22

Paul the apostle told the church members in Corinth, I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak”, and he added, “Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also”, and in chapter eleven and verse twenty-two of Second Corinthians, Paul began to ask a series of questions concerning credentials where we read:

Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

The verse begins, Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? So am I.” Paul began with the words, “are they” which means “are the false apostles and deceivers” “Hebrews” or “ones of the Jewish or Israelitish nations”? “so am I” or “Paul was as well”. “Are they” which means “the false apostles and deceivers” “Israelites” which refers to “one who belongs to the nation of Israel and a name to be held in honor” “so am I” or “Paul was as well”. Paul questioned the church members concerning the nationality and heritage of the “false apostles and deceivers” who were among them.

The verse goes on to say, Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.” Paul added the word, “Are they” which means “the false apostles and deceivers” “the seed” or “the children, offspring and progeny ” “of Abraham” which means “father of a multitude and the son of Terah and the founder of the Jewish nation”? “so am I” or “Paul was as well”. Paul was also the “progeny” of “Father Abraham”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how he began to list his qualifications compared to the “false teachers” who were among the church members. Jesus Christ enabled Paul to have traits that are equally good or greater than the “teachers” who were persuading the church members to believe heresy. Though “false teacher, apostles and deceivers” have notable backgrounds, those who are wise shall compare their teachings to the Holy scriptures to see if what they say is true.

Next time Paul asks the church members about, “Ministers, labors, stripes, prisons and deaths”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
