Whoever Believes Shall Not be Ashamed Romans 10:11

Paul the apostle told the people in Rome, That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” In chapter ten and verse eleven of Romans, Paul refers to the scriptures as he tells his readers “whoever believes on him shall not be ashamed” where we read:

For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.
The verse begins, For the scripture says, ...Paul began with the words, “for” which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore ” “the scripture” which means “the certain portion or section of the Holy Scripture” “says” or “proclaims and declares”. Paul referred to the “Holy Scripture” concerning his next thought.

The verse continues, “... Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. Paul continues with the word, “whosoever” which means “each, every, any, all, the whole and everyone who” “believes” which means “thinks to be true, is persuaded of, credits and places confidence” “on him” or “on the Lord Jesus” “shall not be ashamed” which means “will not be dishonored, disgraced or made to blush with shame”. Paul shared how people who “believe and trust” in Jesus will not be “disgraced and made to blush with shame”.

When we consider these words of Paul, we see how he referred to Isaiah chapter twenty-eight and verse sixteen again which reads, Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believes shall not make haste”. God desires to “save” every person who will “believe and trust” in His Son Jesus. God does not want people to suffer “shame” and “dishonor”, but rather desires to give them “eternal everlasting life”. Those who are wise shall “believe” in Jesus without delay lest they be “ashamed” when the day of judgment comes.

Next time we see Paul refers to the scriptures again as he tells his readers, “there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
