Jesus Lays His Hands Upon the Children - Matthew 19:15

Matthew the apostle wrote how, Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven”, and in chapter nineteen and verse fifteen of his book, Matthew shares how Jesus, “laid his hand on” the children where we read:

And he laid his hands on them, and departed from there.

The verse reads, And he laid his hands on them, ...”. Matthew began with the words, “and he laid” or “and Jesus put”, “his hands” which means “Jesus' hands” “on them” which refers to “upon the little children”. Matthew shared how Jesus put His hands upon the small children as He acquiesced to the requests of the people who brought them to Him.

The verse goes on to say, “... and departed from there.” Matthew continued with the words, “and departed” or “and left and continued on” “from there” which means “from that place”. Matthew wrote how Jesus left the place where He blessed the children.

When we meditate upon Matthew's words in this verse, we see how Jesus gladly laid His hands upon the children and did as those who brought them to Him desired. Afterward, He left to go to another place as He was constantly on the move. God desires to have a loving and caring relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when a person comes to Him and receives Him as their “Savior and Lord”, they shall feel the touch of His spiritual hand and know that He desires to care for them and give them “everlasting life”.

Next time Matthew shares how someone asked Jesus, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
