Jesus Appearing in Another Form - Mark 16:12

After Jesus died upon the cross and was resurrected Mark wrote, “when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not”, and in chapter sixteen and verse twelve of his book, Mark shared how Jesus, “appeared in another form unto two of them”, where we read:

After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.

The verse reads, “After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, ...” Mark began with the words, “after that he appeared” or “in the time following Mary Magdalene telling His disciples that He was alive, Jesus made Himself known, exposed and manifested” “in another form” which means “in a different external appearance” “unto two of them” or “to two of Jesus' disciples”. Mark shared how Jesus showed Himself to “Two of His disciples” while in a different external appearance.

The verse goes on to say, “... as they walked, and went into the country. Mark continued with the words, “as they walked” which means “while the two disciples of Jesus ambled along”, “and went into the country” or “departed to the fields, country seats and neighboring hamlet”. Mark shared how two of Jesus “disciples” departed from the others and were “walking” together toward the “country”.

When we think through Mark's words in this verse, we notice how Jesus transformed Himself into a different “external form” as he revealed Himself to “two of His disciples” while they “walked” along the countryside. Jesus desired for His disciples to know He was risen, and when He found opportunity to reveal Himself unto these “two disciples”, He joined them on their journey. God desires to reveal Himself to every person through His Son Jesus, and those who seek Him shall find Him to be worthy of being their “Savior and Lord”.

Next time Mark shared how the two disciples, “went and told it unto the residue”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
