Your Father and Your Mother Shall Be Glad - Proverbs 23:25

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “the father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy of him, and in chapter twenty-three and verse twenty-five of Proverbs Solomon said, “your father and your mother shall be glad” where we read,

Your father and your mother shall be glad,

and she that bare you shall rejoice.

The verse begins, “Your father and your mother shall be glad, ... Solomon began with the words, “your father” or “your, Solomon's son's, immediate male progenitor and ancestor” “and your mother” which means “and your, Solomon's son's, immediate female progenitor and ancestor” “shall be glad” or “will exult, rejoice and be gladdened”. Solomon said his son's immediate male and female progenitors would rejoice and be gladdened over him.

The verse goes on to say, “... and she that bare you shall rejoice.” Solomon continued with the words, “and she that bare you” or “and she, Solomon's son's, mother who brought forth and birthed him” “shall rejoice” which means “will exult, be joyful and spin around with joy”. Solomon said his son's mother who birthed him would spin around with joy as well.

When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how he knew his son's behavior would cause his parents to be joyful over him. God wants us to have a good relationship with Him and the parents or authorities He provided to us. When we yield our lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for our sins, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and help us by His Holy Spirit to live in a manner that is pleasing to our ruling authorities, parents and Him.

Next time Solomon says, “my son, give me your heart”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
