The Nations Walking in the Light of the City Revelation 21:24

After all the events of the tribulation period, the millennial reign of Jesus and the “Great White Throne” judgment, John the apostle wrote, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” John described the heavenly city as he wrote, “And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass. And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” In Revelation chapter twenty-four John shares how, “the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it” where we read:

And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it:
and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
The verse reads, And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: John began with the words, “and the nations” which means “the company, troop or multitude of individuals of the same nature or genus” “of them” or “belonging to the people” “which are saved” which means “who are kept safe, sound and rescued from danger or destruction” “walk” or “make their progress and make due use of opportunities” “in the light” which means “within the illumination and lamp” “of it” or “belonging to the heavenly city”. John shared how “the multitudes of people” who are “rescued from destruction” will make their “progress and way” within the “light” of the “heavenly city”.

The verse continues, “and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.” John added the words, “and the kings” which means “the leaders, princes, commanders and lords” “of the earth” which refers to “the arable land, country, territory and region” “do bring” or “carry and bear” “their glory” which means “their splendor, brightness, magnificence, excellence, preeminence, dignity, grace and majesty” “and honor” or “value, deference and reverence” “into it” or “into the heavenly city”. John shared how the “rulers” in the “earth” shall carry all their “magnificence, majesty and value” into the “heavenly city”.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we notice there will be “nations” during the time of this “heavenly city”, and they shall all bring all their “glory and honor” into the “city”. God shall have all the world in “reverence” of Him, and He desires to have that begin through a relationship with His Son Jesus while we are living today. Those who submit to Him now shall be as His children, and all these things shall be experienced by them. Let everyone who reads these words “yield” their lives to Jesus Christ today.

Next time John shares how “the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
