The Unjust, The Filthy, The Righteous and The Holy Revelation 22:11

After sharing much of the beauty of the heavenly city and looking upon the wonders that shall be there, Jesus declared to John the apostle, “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keeps the sayings of the prophecy of this book.” John continued,And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which showed me these things. Then said he unto me, See you do it not: for I am your fellow-servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.” John continued, “And he said unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand, and in Revelation chapter twenty-two and verse eleven John shares how the angel told him about, “the unjust, the filthy, the righteous and the holy” where we read:

He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
The verse reads, He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: John began with the words, “he” which means “the person whether male or female” “that is unjust” or “who is wicked, sinful, a criminal, wrong and does hurt”, “let him” which means “allow that person to” “be unjust still” which means “continue being wicked, sinful, a criminal, wrong and doing hurt yet, continually and even now”: “and he” or “and the person whether male or female” “which is filthy” which means “defiled, soiled and dirty”, “let him” or “allow that person whether male or female” “be filthy still” which means “continue being defiled, soiled and dirty”. This declaration allowed and permitted people who are “unjust and filthy” to remain that way .

The verse goes on to say, “and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. John added the words, “and he” which means “and the person whether male or female” “that is righteous” which refers to “those who observe divine laws, are innocent, faultless and guiltless”, “let him” which means “allow that person whether male or female” “be righteous still” or “continue observing divine laws, being innocent, faultless and guiltless”: “and he” or “the person whether male or female” “that is holy” or “”, “let him” which means “allow that person to “be holy still” or “”. John encouraged people who are “righteous” and “holy” to continue being so.

When we think through John's words in this verse, we see the fixed position in a particular behavior that people may exhibit. Those who have chosen to be “unjust and filthy” may remain so, and those who are “righteous and holy” may continue in that position. This idea was portrayed in the life of the Pharaoh of Egypt during the time of Moses where we are told ten times how Pharaoh “hardened” his heart before we are told “God hardened Pharaoh's heart”. The first ten times Pharaoh chose to defy God, and afterward God “solidified” his decision. (See Exodus chapters five through eleven). These who are “unjust, filthy, righteous and holy” shall be “fixed” in those behaviors should the continue in them, and God desires through His Son Jesus to insure people are being “righteous and holy”. Let all who read these words examine themselves to discover which behaviors they follow and are set within.

Next time Jesus tells John again, “behold, I come quickly, and this time He promises “my reward is with me” so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
