Another Beast Revelation 13:11

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote, “If any man have an ear, let him hear.” John continued with the words, “He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints”, and in chapter thirteen and verse eleven of Revelation John saw “another beast coming up out of the earth” where we read:

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth;

and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

The verse reads, “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth;” John began with the words, “and I beheld” which means “and John saw, perceived, noticed, discovered and discerned” “another beast” or “one other wild, savage and ferocious animal” “coming up” which means “ascending, rising and springing up” “out of the earth” or “from the arable land, territory, country and region”. John watched as a second “beast” arose from the “earth” which represents mankind.

The verse continues, “and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.” John added the words, “and he had two horns” which means “and the second beast owned, possessed and held two apexes or projecting extremities in shape like a horn” “like a lamb” or “as or similar to a little lamb”, “and he spoke” which means “and the second beast uttered, proclaimed and declared” “as a dragon” or “like or similar to a serpent or snake-like creature or being”. John shared how this “second beast” had two “horns” which were symbols of “power and authority” and “declared and proclaimed” things which were like the “dragon” which is the “devil”.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse,we discover this “second beast” who is “the false prophet”. His works, ways and speech are like unto the “first beast or the antichrist” who also aligns with “the dragon – the devil”. He shall have “power and authority” over the people in the world, and whatever the “dragon” promoted, he also was behind. God governs over all these things and desires to have a relationship with every person who will receive His Son Jesus Christ as their personal “Savior and Lord”. Those who receive Him shall avoid encountering this “second beast”, but those alive who reject and refuse His offer shall certainly know this daunting figure.
