Without Guile and Fault Revelation 14:5

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote, “And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto God and to the Lamb, and in chapter fourteen and verse five of Revelation John saw how the “one hundred and forty four thousand men” had no “guile” or “fault” where we read:

And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God.

The verse reads, And in their mouth was found no guile: John began with the words, “and in their mouth” which means “and in the orifices of the one hundred and forty four thousand men” “was found” or “was come upon, met with, discovered and understood” “no guile” which means “not any deceit, craft or subtlety”. John saw how these “one hundred and forty four thousand” men had no “subtlety or deceit” within their speech.

The verse goes on to say, “for they are without fault before the throne of God.” John added the word, “for” which means “because and since” “they are without fault” or “one hundred and forty four thousand men were without blemish, faultless and without blame” “before” which refers to “in front and in the presence of” “the throne” or “the chair of state having a footstool which is assigned to kingly power or royalty” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily or trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. John shared how these “ one hundred and forty four thousand men” were “blameless” in the presence of God's “Kingly throne”.

When we meditate John's words in this verse, we discover attributes that are highly unusual for people especially during the tribulation period. Yet these one hundred and forty four thousand men” will not be “deceitful” with their words, nor will they have any “flaw” before God's throne. Only Jesus can make a person be as these men are, and no doubt their relationship with Him will be their “cleansing” influence. God desires to have a relationship with every person regardless of how wicked and evil they have been in their speech and actions, and through His Son Jesus He is able to “save” a person from every “sinful” way. May all who read of the “guileless and faultless” “one hundred and forty four thousand men” know that God is able to make the “vilest” person as these men before His throne.

Next time John shares how he, “saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
