As
John continued to share concerning the events during the tribulation,
He wrote about the antichrist, the false prophet and the angels who
were involved in the reaping of the harvest of believers who received
the Lord Jesus during that time.
John wrote how he saw, “seven
angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in
pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden
girdles. And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven
golden vials full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from
his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the
seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled. And I heard a great
voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and
pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. And the first
went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a
noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the
beast, and upon them which worshiped his image. And the second angel
poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a
dead man:
and every living soul died in the sea. And the third angel poured out
his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became
blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, you are righteous, O
Lord, which are, and was, and shall be, because you have judged thus.
For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and you have
given them blood to drink; for they are worthy”,
and
in
chapter sixteen and verse seven of Revelation John heard
“another...say...true
and righteous are your judgments”
where
we read:
And
I heard another out of the altar say,
The
verse reads, “And
I heard another out of the altar say,
...”
John
began with the words, “and
I heard”
which means “and John was given the faculty of hearing, perceiving,
noticing, discerning and discovering” “another”
or “one other”
“out of the altar”
which means “separate and away from the altar of incense which
stood in the sanctuary or the Holy Place” “say”
or “utter, declare and proclaim”. John listened as “one other”
came and spoke from the “altar”
area before God.
The
verse goes on to say, “... Even
so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are
thy judgments.”
John
added the words, “Even
so”
which means “truly, assuredly and verily”, “Lord”
or
“he to whom a person or thing belongs, about which he has power of
deciding; master and the title given to God the Messiah” “God”
which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised
of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”
“Almighty”
or “the One who holds sway over all things, ruler of all and who is
omnipotent”, “true”
which means “veracious, sincere and opposite to what is fictitious,
counterfeit, imaginary, simulated or pretended” “and
righteous”
or “upright, virtuous, innocent, faultless and guiltless” “are
your judgments”
which refers to “are God's opinions, decisions, condemnations,
punishments and justice”. John heard this “other one” from
God's “altar”
declare God's “punishments and condemnations” to be “veracious
and upright”.
When
we meditate John's words in this verse, we discover a validation to
the “true
and righteous
judgments” of God. Though He needs no one to “validate” Him,
this one from God's “altar”
is sent forth to make a proclamation of it. God will “judge” in
“truth”
and “righteousness”,
and because He is a Holy “Almighty” God, no one shall oppose Him
and be successful. God desires to “save”
people through a relationship with His Son Jesus from His “true
and righteous”
judgments upon mankind. All who accept Jesus as their personal
“Savior and Lord” receive Jesus “righteousness” in place of
their own - “For
he has made him to
be
sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness
of God in him.”
(2 Corinthians 5:21).
May all who read these words understand and believe.
Next
time John shares how he “heard
another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
