Seven Angels with Seven Last Plagues Revelation 15:6

As John continued to share concerning the events during the tribulation, He wrote about the antichrist, the false prophets and angels who were involved in the reaping of the harvest of believers who received the Lord Jesus during that time. John wrote, And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, you King of saints”, and John asked, “Who shall not fear you, O Lord, and glorify your name?” and answered, “for you only are holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for your judgments are made manifest. And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened”, and in chapter fifteen and verse six of Revelation John wrote how “seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven last plagues” where we read:

And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

The verse reads, And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, ... John began with the words, “and the seven angels” which means “and the seven messengers, envoys and ones sent” “came out of” or “proceeded and departed from” “the temple” which means “the sacred edifice or sanctuary which consisted of the Holy place and the Holy of Holies”, “having” or “holding, owning and possessing” “the seven plagues” which refers to “the seven heavy afflictions, blows, wounds and public calamities”. John watched as “seven angels” proceeded from the “temple of God” while holding the “seven” final “afflictions and calamities” to be poured out upon mankind.

The verse continues, “... clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.John added the word, “clothed” which means “arrayed and dressed” “in pure” or “clean, purified, cleansed and unstained” “and white linen” which means “and shining, brilliant, splendid and magnificent clothing made from flax”, “and having” or “and holding, owning and possessing” “their breasts” which means “their bosom or chest area” “girded” or “fastened as with a girdle or belt” “with golden girdles” which refers to “belts which were overlaid and made of gold and served not only to gird on flowing garments but also to carry money in like a purse”. John saw the “brilliant white clothing” of these “seven angels” along with the “purse-like” “golden girdles” they wore upon their chests.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we can imagine the striking nature of this vision of John. These “seven angels” who were carrying the “seven final plagues” to be poured out upon mankind were arrayed in brilliant white clothing and “golden girdles”. The purity and regal look was astonishing, and their task was daunting. God's judgment, His final judgment, was to be brought upon people, and these agents were employed to carry it out. God desires to save people through a relationship with His Son Jesus from this daunting and awesome sight. No one has to experience these things if all would be saved, however, many will refuse to receive Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” and they shall know the fulfillment of the mission of these “seven angels with seven last plagues” and woe be to those who face these things.

Next time John watched as, “one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
