Undefiled Virgins Revelation 14:4

After writing about the “beast or the antichrist” and “the dragon – the devil or Satan” being worshiped by people upon the earth, John the apostle wrote, “And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps. And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth., and in chapter fourteen and verse four of Revelation John saw how these people, “were not defiled with women” where we read:

These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto God and to the Lamb.

The verse reads, These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb wherever he goes. John began with the word, “These” which means “this group of people” “are they” or “are the certain ones” “which were not defiled” which means “who were not polluted, stained or contaminated with the defilement of sin who have soiled themselves by fornication and adultery” “with women” or “after females”; “for they are” which means “because and since these one hundred and forty four thousand people” “virgins” or “marriageable men who have abstained from all uncleanness and whoredom attendant on idolatry and have kept their chastity”. “These” or “this group of people” “are they” which means “are the certain ones” “which follow” or “who side with, join, attend to and accompany” “the Lamb” or “the little lamb which represents Jesus” “wherever” which means “in whatever place” “he goes” or “Jesus leads or departs”. John shared how these “one hundred and forty four thousand men” were “not polluted or stained” with “women” because they are “virgins” who follow Jesus wherever He leads them.

The verse goes on to say, “These were redeemed from among men, being the first-fruits unto God and to the Lamb.” John added the word, “these” which means “this group of people” “were redeemed” or “purchased and bought back” “from among men” which refers to “separate and distant from other people”, “being the first-fruits” which means “the firstlings or first ones who were consecrated” “unto God” which means “toward the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “and to the Lamb” or “and toward the little lamb which represents Jesus”. John shared how these “one hundred and forty four thousand men” are the “first” ones who are “consecrated” to God and His Son Jesus in the tribulation period.

When we consider John's words in this verse, we see the significance of these “one hundred and forty four thousand men” being “virgins”, followers of Jesus and the “first” ones “redeemed”, chosen and saved during the tribulation period. God desires to save every person through His Son Jesus Christ, and these men are given a special duty during the tribulation time. Perhaps those reading these words are considering an intimate relationship with God that goes beyond the normal relationships with others, and now is the time to yield to the “salvation” plan of Almighty God.

Next time John shares, “in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
