Manasseh with Tappuah - Joshua 17:8

In the book of Joshua, we learned how, “there fell ten portions to Manasseh, beside the land of Gilead and Bashan, which were on the other side Jordan. Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons: and the rest of Manasseh's sons had the land of Gilead, and the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah, that lies before Shechem; and the border went along on the right hand unto the inhabitants of Entappuah”, and in chapter seventeen and verse eight of Joshua we learn how, “Manasseh had the land of Tappuah” where we read,

Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah

on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;

The verse reads, Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah: but Tappuah …Joshua or the writer began with the words, “now Manasseh” or “at that time Manasseh whose name means ‘causing to forget’ and was the eldest son of Joseph and progenitor of the tribe of Manasseh” “had the land of Tappuah” which means “possessed, owned and secured the territory, region, district and country belonging to Tappuah whose name means ‘the apple city’ and was a town in the lowland of Judah”; “but Tappuah” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover Tappuah whose name means ‘the apple city” existed as the following. Joshua or the writer shared how “Manasseh” possessed the land “of “Tappuah” which was according to the following.

The verse continues, … on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim;” Joshua or the writer added the words, “on the border” which means “upon the edge, circuit and boundary” “of Manasseh” or “belonging to Manasseh whose name means ‘causing to forget’ and was the eldest son of Joseph and progenitor of the tribe of Manasseh” “to the children of Ephraimwhich means “to the offspring and progeny belonging to Ephraim whose name means ‘double ash-heap: I shall be doubly fruitful’ and was the “second son of Joseph, blessed by him and given preference over his first son, Manasseh”. Joshua or the writer shared how the boundary belonging to “Manasseh” was possessed by the people from the “tribe of Ephraim”

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn through Joshua or the writer more about the boundaries of the “tribe of Manasseh” which were along the border of “Tappuah” which was shared by the people of “Ephraim”. God provided these lands to the tribes of the people of Israel, and when they occupied them, they were living on properties that belong to Him. God owns everything, (See Psalm 24:1) and when we yield to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was raised from the dead after three days, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and fill us with His Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth and give us the ability to live as a witness of Him wherever God places us in His world. (See John 3:16: 16:13; Acts 1:8; Revelation 4:11)

Next time we learn how, “the coast descended unto the river Kanah, southward of the river”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
