Eat Wisdom's Bread and Drink Wisdom's Wine - Proverbs 9:5

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said of wisdom, Whoever is simple, let him turn in here: as for him that wants understanding, she says to him, ...”, and in chapter nine and verse five of Proverbs Solomon shared how wisdom says, “come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine” where we read,

Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

The verse begins, “Come, eat of my bread, ... Solomon began with the word, “come” or “walk, proceed and be lead”, eat of my bread which means “devour and consume of my, wisdom's, bread, food, loaf, meat and victuals”. Solomon shared how “wisdom” invites everyone to consume and devour it's food and nourishment.

The verse continues, “... and drink of the wine which I have mingled.” Solomon added the words, “and drink of the wine” or “and imbibe pertaining to the fruited drink” “which I have mingled” which means “that I, wisdom, have poured, mixed and produced”. Solomon shared how “wisdom” invites everyone to imbibe it's fruited drink.

When we consider the words in this verse, we learn how Solomon employed poetic words to share how Jehovah God's “wisdom” is available to everyone to imbibe and consume. God loves us, and His “wisdom” is abundant. He knows what to do in every circumstance and situation we encounter, and when we surrender to His Son Jesus as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and extend to us His “wisdom” by His Holy Spirit whenever we don't know what to do or where to turn in our circumstances.

Next time Solomon says, “forsake the foolish, and live”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
