In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars”, and in chapter nine and verse two of Proverbs Solomon shared how wisdom, “has killed her beasts” where we read,
She has killed her beasts; she has mingled her wine; she has also furnished her table.
The verse begins, “She has killed her beasts; she has mingled her wine;” Solomon began with the words, “she has killed her beasts” or “she, wisdom, has slaughtered, butchered, slayed and ruthlessly destroyed wisdom's, meat for a feast”; “she has mingled” which means “she, wisdom, has mixed” “her wine” or “her, wisdom's, fruited drink”. Solomon shared how “wisdom” has prepared the “meat and fruited drink” for feasting.
The verse goes on to say, “she has also furnished her table.” Solomon continued with the words, “she has also furnished” or “she, wisdom, has even so and indeed arranged, set, put, lay, prepared and directed” “her table” which means “her, wisdom's, king's table used for private and sacred feasting”. Solomon said “wisdom” set and made ready her sacred feasting table.
When we consider Solomon's words in this verse, we learn how “wisdom” is preparing for a great feast. The “meat” has been made ready: the “wine” for drinking is prepared, and the “sacred table” has been set. The idea is that preparation has been made for all who will to partake of “wisdom's” ideas for living. God wants a personal relationship with us, and He proved His love toward us when He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross for our sins and to be raised from the dead three days later. When we believe and trust in Him as our “Savior and Lord”, we sit at His table of “wisdom”, feast on His forgiveness and dine upon His promised everlasting life. Let all who will come to Jehovah God's invitation and partake of His feast of “wisdom”.
Next time Solomon says wisdom, “has sent forth her maidens”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
