Wisdom Sent Forth Her Maidens - Proverbs 9:3

In the book of Proverbs Solomon said, “Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars. She has killed her beasts; she has mingled her wine; she has also furnished her table”, and in chapter nine and verse three of Proverbs Solomon said wisdom, “has sent forth her maidens” where we read,

She has sent forth her maidens: she cries upon the highest places of the city,

The verse begins, “She has sent forth her maidens: Solomon began with the words, “she has sent forth” or “she, wisdom, has let loose, dismissed and set free” her maidens which means “her, wisdom's, female servants, attendants and damsels”. Solomon shared how “wisdom” dispatched her female servants to invite all who will to come to the feast.

The verse continues, “she cries upon the highest places of the city, ...” Solomon added the words, “she cries” or “she, wisdom, calls out, proclaims and summons” “upon the highest places” which means “on the heights and elevations” “of the city” or “belonging to the town”. Solomon said “wisdom” loudly shouted an invitation to people on the pinnacles belonging to the town.

When we meditate upon Solomon's words in this verse, we discover how Jehovah God's is loudly inviting everyone to receive His “wisdom”. In other words, His wise ways are available to all people. God loves us, and He sent His Son Jesus into the world to die on the cross so we can have a personal relationship with Him. When we receive His invitation and believe and trust in Jesus, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and extend to us His “wisdom” that is crying out for everyone to come and dine. (See James 1:5)

Next time Solomon says wisdom, “whoever is simple, let him turn in”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.

Until tomorrow…there is more…
