In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared how he spoke to King Nebuchadnezzar about his dream and said, “Forasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshiped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odors unto him”, and in Daniel chapter two and verse forty-seven of his book Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar said, “Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods” where we read,
The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods,
and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret.
The verse reads, “The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, ...” Daniel began with the words, “the king answered unto Daniel” or “the royal ruler and leader replied, responded and spoke to Daniel whose name means God is my judge”, “and said” which means “and uttered, declared and proclaimed”, “of a truth it is” or “the following exists as faithful and true”, “that your God” which means “that your, Daniel's, Supreme Deity” “is a God of gods” or “exists as a Supreme Deity among deities”. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar spoke to him and declared that it is certain and true that Daniel's Supreme Deity existed as the Supreme Deity in the midst of deities.
The verse continues, “... and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing you could reveal this secret.” Daniel added the words, “and a Lord of kings” which means “and a domineering master over royal rulers and leaders”, “and a revealer of secrets” or “and an exposer, informer and one who uncovers hidden mysteries”, “seeing you could reveal” which means “because, since and on account that you, Daniel, were able to expose, inform and uncover” “this secret” or “this, King Nebuchadnezzar's, hidden mystery or dream”. Daniel shared how King Nebuchadnezzar recognized that only Daniel was able to reveal his dream to him, and he declared that Jehovah God exists as the Supreme Deity who rules over every other royal ruler and leader because He exposes hidden mysteries.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn through Daniel how this pagan King, Nebuchadnezzar, became one who understood that Jehovah God was truly the “Supreme Deity” who rules over every other deity, and He is the master of every royal ruler. God exposed King Nebuchadnezzar's dream to Daniel, and no one else was able to do this. God is an exceptional God who loves people, and He is omniscient and omnipotent. Nothing is hidden from Him, and yet He still desires to have a personal relationship with every person who will yield their lives to His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind and was raised from the dead after three days. When we put our faith and trust in Him, He will forgive every sin we have committed, He will grant us everlasting life and give us His Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth and empower us to live according to that truth so we, like Daniel, may be used in His Kingdom for all eternity.
