In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared how he went to Arioch, and “said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon: bring me in before the king, and I will show unto the king the interpretation. Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation. The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Are you able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof? Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king has demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, show unto the king”, and in Daniel chapter two and verse twenty-eight Daniel said, “there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets” where we read,
But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these;
The verse reads, “But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.” Daniel began with the words, “but there is a God in heaven” or “however, nonetheless, notwithstanding and moreover there exists a Supreme Deity within the sidereal heavens where God dwells and other spiritual beings” “that reveals secrets” which means “who exposes, informs and uncovers hidden mysteries”,“and makes known to the king Nebuchadnezzar” or “and reveals, informs and communicates to the royal ruler and leader Nebuchadnezzar whose name means may Nebo protect the crown” “what shall be in the latter days” which means “that which will exist within the end time periods or future”. Daniel shared how he told King Nebuchadnezzar that the Supreme Deity Jehovah God within the sidereal heavens exposes and uncovers hidden mysteries and informs him of that which will exist within the future or end time periods.
The verse continues, “Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these;” Daniel added the words, “your dream” which means “your, King Nebuchadnezzar's, mental imagery”, “and the visions” or “and the appearances and sight” “of your head” which means “belonging to your, King Nebuchadnezzar's, mind” “upon your bed” or “on your, King Nebuchadnezzar's, couch or place of lying down”, “are these” which means “exist as the following”. Daniel began to share King Nebuchadnezzar's “mental imageries” and the appearances within his mind that came to him while he was lying upon his “bed”.
When we think through the words in this verse, we learn how Daniel began to share King Nebuchadnezzar's dream and the interpretation of it with him. God revealed the “dream” to Daniel, and Daniel would tell the king. God gave special abilities to Daniel, and these gifts were in keeping with God's Divine purpose and will. He has given us the gift of His Son Jesus who died on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and He raised Him from the grave after three days so when we believe and trust in Him as our personal “Savior and Lord”, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and put His Holy Spirit within us to guide us into all truth according to His perfect will and purpose for our lives.
