In the book of Daniel, Daniel shared how he spoke to King Nebuchadnezzar about his dream and said, “This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king”, and in Daniel chapter two and verse thirty-seven Daniel shared how he told King Nebuchadnezzar, “you, O king, are a king of kings” where we read,
You, O king, are a king of kings:
for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.
The verse reads, “You, O king, are a king of kings:” Daniel began with the words, “you, O king” or “you, King Nebuchadnezzar, O royal ruler and leader”, “are a king” which means “exist as a royal leader” “of kings” or “among all royal rulers and leaders”. Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar that he existed as a royal leader among the royal rulers.
The verse continues, “for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.” Daniel added the words, “for the God of heaven” which means “because, since and on account that the Supreme Deity belonging to the visible sky, atmosphere and sidereal heavens where God dwells and other spiritual beings” “has given you a kingdom” or “has granted, bestowed and assigned to you, King Nebuchadnezzar, a royal rule and reign”, “power” which means “strength”, “and strength” or “and might”, “and glory” which means “and esteem or honor”. Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar that the Supreme Deity within the sidereal heavens granted him a royal realm, strength, might and honor.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how Daniel told King Nebuchadnezzar that he was a royal ruler of all other royal rulers because Jehovah God who dwells in the sidereal heavens granted to him a royal realm, strength, might and honor. In other words, God was the source of everything given to him. David the Psalmist said, “the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. The world, and they that dwell therein”. (See Psalm 24:1) God has given us His Son Jesus who came into the world to die on the cross for the sins of all mankind, and He raised Him from the dead so when we yield our lives to Him, He will forgive our sins, grant us everlasting life and give us gifts through His Holy Spirit and according to His Divine purpose and will. He is the true, “King of Kings and LORD of LORDs” and no one else is greater. (See Revelation 17:14; 19:16)
Next time Daniel shares how he told King Nebuchadnezzar how God made, “you ruler over all”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
