Paul
the apostle continued to share concerning God's creation order for
“the man”
and “the woman”,
and he declared this to be the reason that a woman should be “veiled”
when she “prayed and prophesied”.
In
chapter eleven and verse twelve of First Corinthians, Paul shared
with the Corinthian church members how “in
the Lord” neither the “man
or the woman” is of themselves because,
“all things”
are
“of God”,
where we read:
For as
the woman is
of the man, even so is
the man also by the woman; but all things of God.
The verse begins, “For
as the woman is
of the man, even so is
the man also by the woman;”. Paul
began with the word, “for”
which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and
therefore” “as the woman” or
“the female human being” “is of
the man”
or “exists from the male human being”, “even
so” or “in
the same manner and likewise” “is
the man”
which refers to “the male human being” “also” or “even and
indeed” “of the woman”
or “from the female human being”. After the initial creation,
both the “man and the woman”
come into existence with the aid of the other.
The
verse continues, “but
all things of God.” Paul
continued with the word, “but”
which is a
disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be written
takes precedence over what was just stated “all
things” or
“each, every, the whole and everything is” “of
God” which
means “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the
Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. “All
things”
originated with “God”
which refers to the creation of both “male
and female”.
When
we consider these words from Paul, we see how he places value upon
both “men and women”
who each have a part in pro-creation. After God created “man”
from the “dust of the earth”, he created “woman”
from man's side. Afterwards “the man”
and “the woman”
each contribute to the reproduction of other human beings. Paul's
premise was concerning “authority” and “order” within the
church, and because Jesus Christ's Corinthian church was “out of
order” in this manner, Paul addressed their issue. Jesus values
everyone, and as Paul later wrote in the book of Galatians in chapter
three and verses twenty-six through twenty-eight, “For
you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many
of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is
neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is
neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
May all who read these words know and understand.
Next
time Paul tells the church members, “Judge
in” themselves
about a “woman” who
prays “unto God uncovered”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
