Paul
the apostle continued to share concerning God's creation order for
“the man”
and “the woman”,
he declared this to be the reason that a woman in his day should be
“veiled” when she “prayed and
prophesied”.
He added
that, “the woman is of the man, even
so is the man also by the woman, but all things of God”.
In chapter eleven and verse thirteen of
First Corinthians, Paul shared with the Corinthian church members
“judge in
yourselves”
about a “woman”
praying “unto God uncovered”,
where we read:
Judge
in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?
The verse begins,
“Judge
in yourselves:”. Paul
began with the word, “Judge”
which means “separate, put asunder, pick out, select, choose,
approve, esteem, prefer, determine, resolve and decree” “in
yourselves” which
refers to “the church members themselves”. Paul told the church
members to “determine” for themselves what he was about to ask
them.
The
verse continues, “is
it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?”
Paul added
the words, “is it comely” which
means “conspicuous, eminent, becoming, seemly and fit” “that
a woman”
or “the female human being” “pray”
which means “to offer supplication and worship” “unto
God” or
“toward the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God
the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit” “uncovered”
or “unveiled”? Paul asked the Corinthian church members to
determine whether it was “seemly and fit” for a “woman”
to “offer supplications and worship” “to
God” while
being “unveiled”.
When
we meditate upon these words from Paul, we see how he defers,
hopefully now with understanding, whether a “woman” should offer
“prayers” to God while being “unveiled”. His idea continued
to be concerning respect and honor for “authority and order”
within the church, and Jesus desires the same. God created both men
and women, and His church functions best when we align with His idea
of succession. May all who read be personally valued and have
understanding.
Next
time Paul asks the church members concerning whether, “nature
itself teach you” about
“a man”
who has “long hair”,
so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
