John the apostle wrote how, “Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand”, and in chapter ten and verse thirty of his book John shared how Jesus said, “ I and my Father are one” where we read:
I and my Father are one.
The verse reads, “I and my Father ...” John began with the word, “I” which means “Jesus” “and my father” or “and Jesus' Heavenly Father God” exist as follows. John shared how Jesus said He and His Father God are as follows.
The verse goes on to say, “are one” John continued with the words, “are one” which means “exist as single and the same”. John shared how Jesus said He and His Heavenly Father God are the same.
When we think through John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus said He and His “Heavenly Father” were one and the same. Jesus was God come in the flesh (See John 1:14), and when He came to the earth, He was purposed to provide “salvation” for mankind so people could be in a personal relationship with Him. Sin separates from God, and unless that sin problem is eradicated, no one can relate to Him. Jesus died upon the cross and rose three days later to give mankind an opportunity to be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God in Heaven. Those who are wise will realize Jesus was God who died in their place and thereby removed the sin which separated them from Him. Now all that is necessary for a person to have a personal relationship with God is to believe in His Son Jesus as “Savior and Lord” and their sins will be forgiven and they shall inherit everlasting life with Him. May all who read these words humble themselves and believe.
Next time John shares how, “the Jews took up stones again to stone him", so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
