My Father is Greater than All - John 10:29

The apostle John wrote, “Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long do you make us to doubt? If you be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and you believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand”, and in chapter ten and verse twenty-nine of his book John shared how Jesus said, “My Father, which gave them to me, is greater than all" where we read:

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all;

and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

The verse reads, “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all;” John began with the words, “My Father” which means “my, Jesus', Heavenly Father God”, “which gave them me” or “who granted, bestowed, furnished and supplied His believers and followers to Him”, “is greater than all” which means “is larger, stronger and elder to every other person”. John shared how Jesus declared that His Father God “furnished” all His “believers” to Him, and that God the Father is “larger and stronger” than anyone else.

The verse continues, “and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. John added the words, “and no man” which means “and not one person whether male or female” “is able to pluck them out” or “is capable or has the ability to seize, carry off by force, claim eagerly or take His believers and followers out” “of my Father's hand” or “from my, Jesus', Heavenly Father God's hollowness for grasping, upholding, preserving and protecting”. John shared how Jesus told the Jewish people that “nobody” is capable of “seizing and taking forcefully” His “followers” from God the Father's “grasp of protection and preservation”.

When we meditate upon John's words in this verse, we learn how Jesus referred to His Heavenly Father's “furnishing” to Him those who believe and trust in Him. He declared God to be “greater” than anyone else, and that no one has the ability to “take” His believers from His “grasp of protection and provision”. God desires to be the protector and provider for everyone who yields their life to His Son Jesus, and though they may think themselves to be great at providing and protecting themselves, no one compares to God. Those who are wise will align themselves with God the Father through His Son Jesus and humble themselves under His mighty protection and provision throughout all eternity.

Next time John shares how Jesus says, “I and my Father are one", so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
