In Psalms chapter two which is a Messianic Psalm King David wrote, “Be wise now therefore, O you kings: be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling”, and in chapter two and verse twelve of the book of Psalms David said, “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way” where we read,
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
The verse begins, “Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little.” David began with the words, “Kiss the Son” or “affectionately and gently touch and handle the heir and begotten offspring and prodigy of Jehovah God”, “lest he be angry” which means “except and so that he, Jehovah God, exists as displeased and enraged”, “and you perish” or “and you, heathen rulers, kings and people of the earth, vanish, be destroyed and exterminated” “from the way” which means “apart and separate from the road, journey, direction and manner of Jehovah God”, “when his wrath” or “at the time and moment Jehovah God's ire and anger that wrinkles the nostrils and nose” “is kindled but a little” which means “exists as beginning and starting to burn, consume and remove a small, short and light amount”. David instructed “heathen rulers, kings and people” to affectionately touch Jehovah God's Son, who is Jesus, or else they will encounter the ire, destruction and extermination He invokes when His anger is provoked in a small way.
The verse continues, “Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.” David added the words “Blessed are all they” or “Oh how happy exist each, every, the whole and everyone” “that put their trust” which means “who flees for protection, confides in, makes refuge and hopes” “in him” or “in Jehovah God's Son and Messiah”. David wrote how the person who places their “trust and hope” in Jehovah God's Son and Messiah will live as “Oh how happy” people before Him.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we learn how important it is for every person to put the faith and hope in God's Son Jesus Christ. Everyone who “gently touches” Him by yielding themselves to Jesus as their personal “Savior and Lord” will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life. True “happiness and joy” is found within the person who surrenders their life to Jesus, and they avoid the “wrath of God” that is reserved for anyone who refuses to receive Jesus in their lives. God loves everyone, and in this Messianic Psalm He gives a path for people to be saved and redeemed from their sins so they may live forever with Him. Those who are wise carefully think through this warning of God through David and yield themselves to Jesus who alone can save and keep them from God's wrath.
Next time we begin a new chapter and discover, “A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
