Luke the beloved physician wrote as Paul was a prisoner in Rome, he “dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, ...”, and in chapter twenty-eight and verse thirty-one of the book of Acts Luke shared how Paul was, “Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ” where we read:
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ,
with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
The verse begins, “Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, ...” Luke began with the words, “Preaching the kingdom of God” which means “officiated as a herald, proclaimed and published openly concerning the royal power, kingship, dominion and rule belonging to the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”, “and teaching those things” or “and holding discourses with others in order to instruct them, delivered didactic teachings and instructed people according to the words, acts and deeds” “which concern the Lord Jesus Christ” which means “concerning the One to whom a person or thing belongs about which he has the power of deciding; master, and the title given to God the Messiah, Jesus, whose name means Jehovah is Salvation and is the Son of God, the Savior of mankind, God incarnate, the anointed One and Messiah”. Luke shared how “Paul” continued to speak about God's Kingdom, and he taught the people who visited him about the words, acts and deeds of “Jesus the Messiah”.
The verse continues, “... with all confidence, no man forbidding him.” Luke added the words, “with all confidence” which means “having each, every, the whole and everything related to the freedom in speaking, with unreserved speech and without concealment, ambiguity or circumlocution”, “no man forbidding him” or “not one person whether male or female hindering Paul”. Luke shared how “Paul” was able to speak about the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ His Son without anyone hindering, censoring or preventing him from sharing.
When we think through Luke's words in this verse, we learn how “Paul” spent his time in “Rome”. He shared the gospel of the Kingdom of God with anyone who would listen to him, and he told them of God's salvation through Jesus Christ His Son. God promised “Paul” by an angel that he would bear witness of him in “Rome”, and he fulfilled his mission. God loves people everywhere, and He wants the world to know how His Son Jesus was sent to die on the cross for the sins of mankind. Anyone who yields to Jesus will be forgiven of their sins and granted everlasting life with God, and those who are wise yield to Him and receive His forgiveness and eternal life as He has promised. (See John 3:16)
Next time we begin a new study in the book of Psalms where David of Israel wrote, “Blessed is the man”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
