Running to Darkness

Why is it thus that thou dost hide

thy darkened way to keep

for when the light doth shine on thee

to blackened sites thou seek

To come to light too great for thee

tis blinding from within

that thou might sudden to reveal

the passion of thy sin

And thus hidden in obscure place

resort thou for thy crime

lest to expose thy wicked ways

and squelch thee of thy time

For great delight dost thou now take

of thy cantankerous ways

thus no one should rebuke thy soul

for willful triumphs made

But alas and forward thought

that thou should know thy end

for should thou thus continue tread

eternity shall spend

Apart away and from without

the presence of our God

with everlasting chain remind

of thy pernicious fraud

While all the patch of time thou spent

of wasted years indulged

salvation brought within thy site

but thou hell bent promulged
