In Psalms chapter twenty-two David said, “I will declare your name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise you”, and in chapter twenty two and verse twenty-three of Psalms David said, “You that fear the LORD, praise him” where we read,
You that fear the LORD, praise him; all you the seed of Jacob, glorify him;
and fear him, all you the seed of Israel.
The verse begins, “You that fear the LORD, praise him; all you the seed of Jacob, glorify him;” David began with the words, “You that fear the LORD” which means “you people who are reverent to, in awe of and morally afraid of Jehovah who is the existing One and the proper name for the One True God”, “praise him” or “be boastful, commend and give glory to him, Jehovah God”; “all you the seed of Jacob” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the offspring, descendants, posterity and children belonging to Jacob whose name means heel-holder or supplanter and was the son of Isaac and grandson of Abraham”, “glorify him” or “honor, make weighty and promote him, Jehovah God”. David called upon every person who revered Jehovah God to honor and glorify Him, and he specifically beckoned the offspring of “Jacob” to honor and promote Him.
The verse continues, “and fear him, all you the seed of Israel.” David added the words, “and fear him” or “and abide, dwell in, inhabit and stay with him, Jehovah God”, “all you seed of Israel” which means “each, every, the whole and everyone of the offspring, descendants, posterity and children belonging to Israel whose name means God prevails and was the second name of Jacob given to him by God after his wrestling with the angel at Peniel. David called upon everyone who was in awe of Jehovah God and the offspring of “Israel” to reverence Him as well.
When we meditate upon the words in this verse, we see how David called out to everyone to give “glory, honor and credit” to Jehovah God, and he specifically named the descendants of “Jacob” and “Israel” to be among those who are in awe of Him. God desires to have a personal and intimate relationship with every person through His Son Jesus, and when we submit to Jesus, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with Him. Let all the world hear the words of David and give honor, glory, credit and praise unto Jehovah God for who He is and what He has provided for all mankind.
Next time David says, “he has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
