In Psalms chapter twenty-two David said, “the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations. All they that are fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul”, and in chapter twenty two and verse thirty of Psalms David said, “a seed shall serve him” where we read,
A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
The verse begins, “A seed shall serve him;” David began with the words, “A seed” which means “offspring, descendants, posterity and children” “shall serve him” or “will work and execute labor for him, Jehovah God”. David shared how the posterity or children of the people of the world will work and labor for Jehovah God.
The verse continues, “it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.” David added the words, “it shall be accounted” or “the work performed for Jehovah God will be counted, numbered and reckoned” “to the Lord” which means “toward Yahweh as a display of reverence” “for a generation” or “for a period, habitation and dwelling”. David said the work and labor of the offspring of Jacob, Israel and the non-Hebrews would labor for Jehovah God for a period of time.
When we think through the words in this verse, we see how the posterity of the people of the world will serve Jehovah God for a length of time. This will be a great honor for them as Jehovah's Son Jesus Christ will rule and reign over them. God desires to have a personal relationship with everyone, and this is accomplished by receiving Jesus as “Savior and Lord”. When we submit to Jesus, He will forgive our sins and grant us everlasting life with God, and for all eternity we shall serve Him joyfully in His kingdom.
Next time David says, “they shall come, and shall declare his righteousness”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then.
Until tomorrow…there is more…
