All Things for Your Sake 2 Corinthians 4:15

Paul the apostle shared with the church members in Corinth how he and his companions, “knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus”, and he added, “and shall present us with you”. In chapter four and verse fifteen of Second Corinthians, Paul told the church members how, “all things are for your sakes”, where we read:

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might
through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

The verse begins, “For all things are for your sakes, ...” Paul began with the word, “for” which means “even as, indeed, no doubt, seeing then, verily and therefore” “all things” or “each, every, the whole and every type” “are for your sakes” which means “are on behalf of the church members”. Paul declared how everything he and his companions did were on behalf of the church members.

The verse continues, “... that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.” Paul added the words, “that the abundant grace” which means “in order and so that the super-abounding and augmented goodwill, loving-kindness and unmerited favor” “might through the thanksgiving” or “could have the possibility by way of gratitude and grateful language” “of many redound” which means “of a greater quantity and superior and more excellent fixed number of measure and abundance” “to the glory” or “toward the opinion, judgment, view, splendor and brightness” “of God” which refers to “the Godhead bodily and trinity which is comprised of God the Father, Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Paul was willing to sacrifice everything for the church members that they might know the “abundant grace” that was offered by God through many people's “gratitude” and “grateful language”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how important it was to him that they know why he suffered as he did. The church members were the benefactors of the “threats of death” against he and his companions, and when they demonstrated the “abundant grace” of God through many people's “thanksgiving”, they could find a greater measure of the “glory of God”. God Almighty desires a relationship with everyone who will receive His Son Jesus as “Savior and Lord”, and when they do, their lives become a witness like Paul and his companions for “others' sake”.

Next time Paul declares to the church members what, “for which cause we faint not”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
