Jesus Died for All 2 Corinthians 5:15

Paul the apostle told the Corinthian church members, “the love of Christ constrains us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead” , and in chapter five and verse fifteen of Second Corinthians, Paul had the church members consider, “whether we be beside ourselves where we read:

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves,
but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

The verse begins, “And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves”. Paul began with the words, “and that he” which refers to “Jesus Christ” “died” or “perished” “for all” which refers to “the whole, each and every person”, “that they which live” or “those who breathe, are among the living and enjoy life” “should not henceforth live” which means “should no longer or hereafter breath, be among the living and enjoy life” “unto themselves” or “toward the people's own selves”. Paul shared how Jesus “died” for every person so they would no longer “live” for only “themselves”.

The verse continues, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.. Paul added the word, “but” which is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be written takes precedence over what was just stated “unto him which died” or “toward Jesus who perished” “for them” which refers to “on behalf of those people”, “and rose again” which refers to “and was aroused, risen, caused to appear and stirred up to live again”. Paul referred to the way Jesus not only “died” for people, but also “arose from the grave” for them.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how Jesus gave His life for people who were “spiritually dead”, and He “rose again” that they might be “spiritually alive”. Jesus so desires to have a relationship with people that He “died” in their place and was “resurrected” that they might have “eternal life”. Let all who read these words know the commitment of Jesus Christ and submit their lives to Him to obtain “everlasting life”.

Next time Paul shares how he and his companions, “know...no man after the flesh”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
