Giving No Offense in Anything 2 Corinthians 6:3

Paul the apostle told the church members in Corinth how God said, “in the day of salvation have I succored you”, and in chapter six and verse three of Second Corinthians, Paul shared how he and his companions were, “giving no offense in any thing where we read:

Giving no offense in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

The verse begins, “Giving no offense in any thing,” Paul began with the word, “giving” which means “granting, supplying and furnishing” “no offense” or “not one occasion of stumbling that leads people to error or sin” “in any thing” which means “in not one thing”. Paul shared how he and his companions were careful not to “supply or furnish” anything that would “stumble” another person into “sin and error”.

The verse goes on to say, “ that the ministry be not blamed: Paul continued with the words, “that the ministry” which means “so the serving of those who execute the commands of others” “be not blamed” or “would not be found in fault and mocked”. Paul did not want anything to tarnish the reputation of the “ministry” in which he and his companions were engaged.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, we see how important “integrity” “in the ministry” was to he and his companions. Paul and his companions went to great strides not to “offend” anyone toward “sin”, and those who know Jesus as their “Savior and Lord” should strive to do the same. Too many people have been “offended” by those who call themselves Christians and act otherwise. This bring “reproach” and “blame” upon the “ministry” and hurts the cause of the “gospel”. Jesus Christ and His “gospel” is “worthy” of guarding the manner in which we conducting ourselves before others.

Next time we see Paul tell the church members how he and his companions were, “in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
