Blinded Minds 2 Corinthians 3:14

Paul the apostle told the church members in Corinth how some people's, “minds were blinded” because “until this this day remains the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ”, and in chapter three and verse fifteen of Second Corinthians, Paul told the church members concerning the children of Israel, “the vail is upon their heart”, where we read:

But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

The verse begins, “But even unto this day, when Moses is read,” Paul began with the word, “but” which is a disassociation conjunction that means what is about to be written takes precedence over what was just stated “even unto this day” which refers to “till and as far as this very and selfsame day”, “when Moses” which means “at the time Moses whose name means drawing out and was the legislator of the Jewish people and in a certain sense the founder of the Jewish religion” “is read” which means “to distinguish between and recognize, know accurately and acknowledge” . Paul referred to the way the book of the law delivered by Moses “is read” even today.

The verse goes on to say, the vail is upon their heart”. Paul continued with the words, “the vail” or “covering” “is upon” which means “is situated, set, destined and appointed toward” “their heart” which refers to “the children of Israel’s soul or mind, as it is the fountain and seat of the thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, affections, purposes, endeavors”. Paul shared how the “covering” or “blindness” continues to exist today even as there is a “vail” upon their “minds and souls”.

When we meditate upon these words of Paul, .

Next time Paul proclaims to the church members, “when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.”, so read ahead, and we shall join together then,

Until tomorrow…there is more…
